The sooner you realize as leader or manager that if your employees are successful then you and the company are successful as well. I don’t know who said it but, “the success of the individual is inherent in the success of the team,” has
always been one of my favorites. When they perform, you and the employee will share in the glory of success but at the same time, when your employees fall down on the job, you will share in the blame for their shortcomings. Heck, you hired them after all.
It is to everyone’s advantage, especially yours, to inspire and motivate your employees to perform their very best each and every day. While we all take pride in our ability to do just that it is never easy because as you know, not all employees are created equal. Some employees are new and still coming up the learning curve while others have been there since the beginning. It’s up to you to recognize the differences on an individual level and motivate accordingly.
Bottom line is motivating your staff should be your primary concern and something you should work on constantly every day, no matter what else the calendar says you have going on.
